Dimensions of Guided Tour Experiences in the Sharing Economy: Insights from ToursByLocals
Öz
The purpose of this study is to explore the dimensions of perceived value of guided tours, as well as uncover the influence of those dimensions on tourists’ evaluations. In order to achieve the objectives of this study, content and thematic analysis were carried out on 294 guided tour reviews gathered from an online sharing economy platform called ToursByLocals. According to the results, there are seven crucial dimensions that determine guided tour experiences, namely professionalism and reliability, flexibility and personalization, knowledge and interpretation, local connections and authenticity, communication skills and language proficiency, personal touches and hospitality, and facilitation. The findings provide theoretical contributions to the conceptualization of guided tour experiences, while also offering significant practical implications for destination management, improving guiding services, and enhancing tourist satisfaction.
