With the French occupation of Egypt, the modern transformation that began in the Arab world has brought about many changes in the field of literature as well as in all areas of life. As a means of expression of emotions, poetry has been removed from its traditional form and poured into modern new patterns in which people of the age can convey their emotions. The ensembles established by the important writers of the period such as İhya School, Diwan Group and Apollo School, played a key role in the modernization phase of Arab poetry and contributed to the transformation of Arab poetry to a new form that would meet the needs of the era. In this article, the approaches of the Diwan Group, which assimilates the elements that should be in the form and content of the poem in the process of acquiring the new form of Arabic poetry by assimilating the two world literature, especially English literature, will be discussed.
