"Blood Donation" As An Example of Altruism

Abstract

Blood the basic symbol of health and life from past to present is known as an unique treatment tool which is human its source and no other alternative to be obtained. Blood donation is related to not only medical and technical issue but it is also explained as result of individual’s a good-faith behaviours. In a sense it is regarded with attitudes helping to organization, society or individual transform to the behavior or “altruism as a charecteristic of identity. This study is carried out by interviewing mutually with 176 teachers in the middle socio-economic level district in Ankara by planning in order to explain the effect of the blood donation status and some of the selected demographic indicators on teachers’ altruistic attitudes. In the results of analysis, it is stated that the blood donation status and age affects teachers’ altruistic attitudes.

Bir Fedakâkarlık Örneği Olarak "Kan Bağışı"

Öz

Kan, geçmişten günümüze sağlığın ve yaşamın temel simgesi olarak “kaynağı insan olan ve elde edilmesi için başka alternatifi olmayan eşsiz bir tedavi aracı” olarak bilinmektedir. Kan bağışı ise sadece tıbbi ve teknik konularla değil, aynı zamanda bireylerin iyi niyetli davranışlarının sonucu olarak açıklanmaktadır. Bir anlamda kan bağışı; bir örgüte, topluma ya da bireye yardımcı olma tutumunun davranışa dönüşmesi ya da bir kişilik özelliği olarak “fedakârlık” ile yakından ilişkilidir. Bu araştırma, öğretmenlerin fedakârlık yapma tutumlarına kan bağışlama durumu ile seçilen bazı demografik belirleyicilerin (cinsiyet ve yaş) etkisini açıklamak amacı ile planlanarak Ankara’nın orta sosyo-ekonomik düzeydeki semtlerinde çalışan 176 öğretmen ile karşılıklı görüşülerek yürütülmüştür. Yapılan analizler sonucunda öğretmenlerin fedakârlık tutumları üzerinde kan bağışında bulunma durumunun ve yaşın önemli bir yordayıcı olduğu belirlenmiştir.
