Poverty causes major social and economic instabilities in both developed and developing countries. For this reason, fighting
poverty is of great importance among the subjects which all countries consider.
In recent years, one of the most effective political methods that is used to fight poverty is Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT),
used in many other countries. In CCT cash assistance is granted to the poor, primarily to women and children, in exchange to
their realizing some specific conditions.
In this study, we tried to find out whether the regional distribution of CCT, which has been used in Turkey in the education and
health fields since 2003, differatiates or not. The Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics (NUTS) Level 1 based maps of
this study were extracted from the 2003 - 2010 CCT data of General Directorate of Social Assistances (SYGM).
According to the results of the study, the number of eligible households and the rate of accepted applications were considered
Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions took place on the top. In general, the high number of households of CCT come out
in regions where have high number of young population, low literacy rates and high migration rate.
