This study explores how irrational performance beliefs affect team resilience in professional female soccer players, involving 270 athletes from Turkey's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd leagues. The Irrational Performance Beliefs Inventory-2 was used to assess irrational belief levels and the Team Resilience Characteristics Inventory to evaluate team resilience levels. It was revealed that the sub-dimensions of "awfulizing" and "depreciation" were positively and significantly associated with the team's tendency to demonstrate vulnerabilities shown under pressure. The variance explained by awfulizing in this weakness dimension was found to be 6.2%, while that of vulnerabilities shown under pressure was 9.9%. The findings indicate that individual irrational beliefs exert a direct yet circumscribed influence on the psychological resilience of the team. This situation has the potential to exert a detrimental effect on performance by undermining team trust, cooperation, and collective self-efficacy. It has been emphasized that leadership, team social support, and effective communication mechanisms function as protective factors in reducing the impact of irrational beliefs, especially in the context of psychological difficulties. To summarise, this study offers empirical evidence demonstrating the impact of irrational beliefs on team resilience among women football players and indicates a necessity for the development of psychological interventions and educational programmes.
