THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT HAMSTRING ECCENTRIC EXERCISE PROGRAMS ON ISOKINETIC STRENGTH PARAMETERS

Öz

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of 8-week different eccentric H exercises [Nordic hamstring exercise (NHE) and Single leg deadlift exercise (SLDE)] on H muscle strength, H/Q and LSI. Football players were divided into 2 groups: those who perform NHEs (n = 12, age = 20.50 ± 1.56) and those who perform SLDEs (n = 13, age = 19.69 ± 1.37). Isokinetic strength of the muscles around the knee of the football players was measured using a Cybex isokinetic dynamometer at the beginning of the study and after 8 weeks of NHE and SLDE. Wilcoxon test was used to determine the difference between the isokinetic muscle strength of the football players. At the end of the study, it was determined that Hcon and Hecc muscle strength increased statistically in the NHE group. It was determined that the non-dominant leg Hcon/Qcon ratio and Hecc/Qcon ratio in the NHE group and the dominant leg Hcon/Qcon ratio in the SLDE group were statistically higher in the post-test. Based on these results, it can be concluded that NHE is more effective than SLDE in increasing H muscle strength and H/Q ratio.
