ADAPTATION OF EVENT QUALITY PERCEPTION SCALE INTO TURKISH: THE 2012 IAAF WORLD INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS IN ATHLETICS IN ISTANBUL

Öz

The aim of this research is to adapt the “Event Quality Perception” scale devised by Ko, Zhang, Cattani and Pastore (2011) into Turkish. In line with this purpose, the scale was applied to the spectators of The 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics in Istanbul and tests such as content validity (the opinions of experts, two of whom were linguists, were asked), convergent validity (factor loadings range from 0,426 to 0,773), discriminant/external validity (moderate and strong positive relationships for all factors) and construct validity (5-factors and 34 items) were performed. Then, to investigate the invariance property of the scale, a test-retest technique (a strong positive linear relationship), a coefficient of internal consistency Cronbach’s Alpha (0,898), and Item-Total Correlation (item values between 0.39 and 0.80) analyses were performed. Furthermore, a confirmatory factor analysis was used to test the accuracy of the five-dimensional structure desinged as a result of the Explanatory Factor Analysis. The result of the study, which aimed at investigating the reliability and validity of the scale in the Turkish language and culture, indicated that a valid and reliable scale tool has been obtained and thus the research has reached its goal

Etkinliğin Kalite Algısı Ölçeğinin Türkçe’ye uyarlanması: Dünya Salon Atletizm Şampiyonası İstanbul 2012

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Ko, Zhang, Cattani ve Pastore (2011) tarafından geliştirilen “Etkinliğin Kalite Algısı” adlı ölçeği Türkçe’ye uyarlamaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda ölçek, 2012 yılında İstanbul’da düzenlenen Dünya Salon Atletizm Şampiyonası’nın izleyicileri üzerinde uygulanarak, ölçeğin içerik geçerliği (iki dil uzmanı ve uzman görüşü), yakınsak geçerliği (en düşük faktör yük değeri 0,426 en yüksek 0,773), ayrışma/dış geçerliği (tüm faktörlerde pozitif yönde orta ve yüksek düzeyde ilişki) ve yapı geçerliği (5 faktörlü ve 34 maddeli) sınamaları yapılmıştır. Daha sonra ölçeğin güvenirliği ile ilgili ölçeğin zamanla değişmeme özelliğini belirlemek için test tekrar test tekniğinden (doğrusal yönde güçlü ilişki), tutarlılığı ile ilgili ise iç tutarlılık katsayısı olan Cronbach Alpha’dan (0,898) ve Madde Toplam Korelasyonu (0.39 ile 0.80 aralığında madde değerleri) analizlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Ayrıca, Açıklayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda karar verilen beş boyutlu yapının doğruluğunun sınanması amacıyla doğrulayıcı faktör analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda ölçeğin Türk dilinde ve kültüründe güvenirliğini ve geçerliğini belirlemeyi amaç edinen bu araştırmada, geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracına ulaşıldığı, dolayısıyla araştırmanın amacına ulaşıldığı sonucuna varılmıştır
