The aim of this study was to determine the fundamental characteristics of 2000m rowing technique in different distances (500m, 1000m, 1500m and 2000m). Ten elite rowers (age mean 20,90±1,5yrs; mean height 184,50±5,9cm; mean weight 79,40±9,05kg; mean training year 6,85±2,49yrs) were participated to this study. 2000m rowing techniques on Concept 2D ergometer was recorded by 2 high speed (100hz) Basler cameras and 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000m one circle of the rowing techniques were analyzed by using SIMI Motion Reality System Version 8.5.7. In catching and finishing phases segments’ angles, angular velocity, angular acceleration, stroke time, stroke power, stroke velocity and stroke rate were evaluated by SPSS 20.0 program. The differences between the performances were analyzed by one way ANOVA, the relationships between performance and kinematic parameters were evaluated by Pearson Correlation analysis. Significant differences were found at knee angle in catching phase (p<0.05); also, a statistically significant difference was found at every distance of the traction rate and this difference showed a gradual increase depending on the distance (p<0.05). As a result, it should not be forgotten that the important movements that accelerate the boat from traction are the chain movements created by the lower extremities, although they appear to be intensely occurring in the upper limbs of the body
