Observations on Two Lamp Moulds from Cremna

Öz

Cremna, ancient city of southwest Turkey, has one of the most spectacular sites in Pisidia, high in the Taurus mountains. Strabon announces that Cremna was conquared by Amyntas, the king of Galatia and kept under control of the city from 39 BC. to the year 25 BC. When he passed away. After his death the city had been made a Roman colony called “Colonia Iulia Augusta Felix Cremna” by Augustus. İt has been thought that the emperor Hadrianus visited Cremna in 129 AD. During the reign of emperor Probus, Cremna had been occupies by forces controlled by an Isaurian bandid Lydius. Two lamp moulds from Cremna discussed here provide important informations about the production of Hellenistic lamp in city.In light of these moulds, Cremna from 2.mid-century BC to 1. centuries, produced by an lamp has been confirm accurately. Mould 1 was commonly found in most of the Mediterranean cities. on the other hand Mould 2, which features a different form suggested that the city produced new forms.

Kremna’dan İki Kandil Kalıbı Üzerine Gözlemler

Öz

Türkiye’nin güneybatısındaki Kremna, Toros Dağları’nın yüksek kesimlerine konumlanan Pisidia’daki göz kamaştırıcı kentlerden birisidir. Strabon Kremna’nın Galatia kralı Amyntas tarafından zapt edildiğini ve ölümüne kadar MÖ 39-25 yılları arasında kenti kontrol altında tuttuğunu bildirir. Amyntas’ın ölümünden sonra kent Augustus tarafından “Colonia Iulia Augusta Felix Cremna” olarak adlandırılan bir Roma kolonisi haline getirilmiştir. İmparator Hadriaus’un MS 129’da Kremna’yı ziyaret ettiği düşünülmektedir. İmparator Probus’un saltanatı sırasında Kremna, Isauria haydutu Lydius’un kontrol ettiği güçler tarafından işgal edilmiştir. Burada ele alınan Kremna’dan iki kandil kalıbı, kentin Hellenistik Dönem kandil üretimi hakkında önemli bilgiler vermektedir. Söz konusu kalıplar ışığında, Kremna’nın MÖ 2. yüzyılın ortaları – MÖ 1. yüzyıllarda kandil ürettiği kesin olarak doğrulanmıştır. Kalıp 1 Akdeniz kentlerinin birçoğunda bulunmuştur. Öte yandan Kalıp 2’de görülen farklı form özellikleri kentin yeni formlar ürettiğini düşündürmüştür.
