THE CONTRIBUTION OF ISO TS EN 9001:2008 QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM TO QUALITY OF BUSINESS LIFE: HEALTH SECTOR APPLICATION

Öz

Quality of system must be provided, for supplying goods and services that meets the
quality of wants and needs of customers that changes continuously. National or international
business‟ managers pay a bigger importance to the quality because of the diversification of
developing technology and marketing resources. Globalisation has left the idea of classic
management methods, approaches and practices which were very popular in their time to new
ideas Businesses implement to new management tecniques that help to distinguish themselves
than their competitors.
Nowadays quality becomes a usual business component in terms of customers, employees,
suppliers and other stakeholders. Companies have a needing about quality certificate or
another argument showing its quality proficiency regarding implementing a quality
management system. Quality Management System is in general a composition of efforts
aiming to submit a cost effective service and to gain full appreciation of the demanding
parties, to improve, protect and develop quality,shown by various departments of the
institution.
Quality assurance, securing it for all times, and quality improvements are not realized via
randomized things but systematic studies.Quality management systems benefits such as better
documentation for organizations standardization, customer satisfaction, better supplier
relationships, detection of powers and responsibilities within the enterprise, data and ability to
make situation analysis in accordance with statistical measurements and to be able to use the
results of these analysis for the forward-looking decisions.
Tqm is a tecnique that adopted and implemented by most of the businesses within those
tecniques. The reasons of importance of quality are; diversity in products and services that are
produced,disappearance of trade borders, technological improvements and new competition
conditions by means of these advances. The organisations which adopt the TQM are
increasing the quality of the products and services whereas they decrease the cost of them.
This situation provides the advantage in competition in the market.
Quality concept has an important role in health industry as well in production industry.
Together with the development of science and technology as well as increase of cultural level
ad importance attached to humanity, submission of health services with higher standards
become obligatory. In order to let Turkey have a competition power and overcome from
challenges under 21st century health conditions, it should realize the investments through
future, such as technology, research ad development,environment as well as most important
one, education. In the hospitals that one of the components of health industry, quality
understanding gain an importance because of the need of satisfy the health care needs finely
and take the proper management decisions. Nowadays together with quality understanding,
also quality management systems can obtain important structure for organizations. Total
quality management approach in health sector meets either expectation about higher quality
service, or goals on reducing service costs. Quality certification systems, which previously
originated in health sector in an incentive manner, are the criteria which have been practiced compulsorily in recent years and which affect the additional payments for the staff, and which
determine the hospital performance, the quality criteria of which the Ministry of Health
attaches much importance and supervises itself.
ISO 9000 for quality is one of the most applicable strategies by businesses all over the world.
ISO 9000 has been one of important issues in many developing countries including Turkey.
ISO 9000 QMS has been still first basic step in the attainment of TQM. In the implementation
of ISO 9000
QMS by the organizations, they learn what their organization processes are and how to
measure and evaluate their processes. Organization which implement ISO 9000 QMS, will
take advantages of this systems in two or three years.
The aim of this study is to evaluate " The Contribution Of TS EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality
Management System to Quality of Business Life” and show the factors that affect Quality of
Business Life. Using Quality Guarantee Systems (QGS) ISO 9001:2008 in the production and
the service enterprises that has the last state after the revision made in the year 2008 continues
increasingly. QGS aims to make the system more efficient, more effective and faster by
arranging the management form of the enterprises. Benefitting in the highest level from the all
wealth of the enterprise is basically considered while performing this aim.

Öz

Rekabetin giderek artması işletmeleri başarılı olmanın farklı yollarını aramaya yöneltir. Bu amaçla işletmeler, kendi işletmelerini diğer rakip işletmelerden farklılaştırmalarına yardım edecek yeni yönetim tekniklerini uygulamaktadırlar. TKY, işletmelerin büyük bir kısmının uyguladıkları ve benimsedikleri bir tekniktir. Sağlık hizmetlerinde toplam kalite yönetimi yaklaşımı, hem toplumun daha kaliteli hizmet beklentisi hem de hizmet maliyetlerinin düşürülmesi hedeflerini karşılamaktadır. Günümüzde kalite anlayışının yanı sıra kalite yönetim sistemleri de kuruluşlara önemli bir altyapı sağlayabilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, “TS EN ISO 9001:2008 Kalite Yönetim Sistemi uygulayan firmada İş Yaşam Kalitesini” değerlendirmek ve yaşam kalitesini etkileyen faktörleri ortaya koymaktır.
