STRATEJİK YÖNETİMİN TEMEL KAVRAMLARINA PRATİKTE YÜKLENEN ANLAMLARIN TESPİTİ ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Öz

Bu çalışmada stratejik yönetim disiplininin temel kavramlarına pratikte yüklenen anlamların tespit edilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Türkiye bağlamında faaliyet gösteren 12 lokal firmanın farklı düzeylerdeki yöneticilerinin stratejik yönetim disiplininin temel kavramları olan “strateji”, “rekabet üstünlüğü” ve “sürdürülebilirlik” kavramlarına yükledikleri anlamlara dair bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Araştırmada ihtiyaç duyulan veriler açık uçlu soru formatında hazırlanmış biçimsel mülakatlar aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda stratejik yönetimin temel kavramlarının yöneticilerin zihnindeki karşılıklarının ders kitabı bilgisinden öteye gitmediği ve bunun sonucunda da pratikte stratejik yoksunluk olarak tezahür ettiği tespitinde bulunulmuştur.

A RESEARCH ON THE DETERMINATION OF THE PRACTICAL MEANINGS ATTRIBUTED TO THE BASIC CONCEPTS OF STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT

Öz

In this study, it is aimed to determine the practical implications of the basic concepts of the strategic management discipline. For this purpose, an evaluation has been conducted about the meanings which managers, working at different levels in 12 local firms operating in Turkey, attributed to the concepts of "strategy", "competitive advantage" and "sustainability". The data needed in the study were collected through formal interviews prepared in open-ended question format. As a result of the study, it has been determined that the basic concepts of strategic management did not go beyond the knowledge of the textbook in the minds of managers, and as a result, it manifests as strategic deprivation in practice.
