Güç ve Politika: Çıplak Hayat, Biyopolitika ve Nekropolitikanın Karşılaştırmalı Analizi

Öz

Bu makale, modern devletlerin insan topluluklarını kontrol etme ve yönetme biçimlerinin evrimini eleştirel bir şekilde inceleme amacıyla çıplak yaşam, biyopolitika ve nekropolitika gibi birbiriyle ilişkili kavramları araştırmaktadır. Giorgio Agamben, Michel Foucault ve Achille Mbembe'nin çalışmalarından yararlanan makale, gücün farklı mekanizmalar aracılığıyla nasıl işlediğini araştırmaktadır: Çıplak yaşam durumunda bireylerin yalnızca hayatta kalmaya indirgenmesi, biyopolitika sistemleri içinde yaşamın düzenlenmesi ve optimizasyonu ve nekropolitikada çerçevelendiği gibi kimin yaşayıp kimin ölmesi gerektiğine dair egemenin kararı gibi konular karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmektedir. Makale, çağdaş toplumdaki toplulukların görünürlüğünü ve dışlanmasını şekillendiren farklı siyasi güç biçimlerine odaklanmaktadır. Mülteci krizleri, kamu sağlık sistemleri ve devlet şiddeti gibi tarihsel ve çağdaş örnekler aracılığıyla, bu kavramların günümüz siyasetinde nasıl ortaya çıktığını analiz etmektedir. Makale, nihayetinde egemenlik ve dışlama bağlamında devam eden söyleme katkıda bulunmayı ve modern çağda yaşam, ölüm ve iktidar dinamiklerine ilişkin içgörüler sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu makale, bu üç güç teorisini karşılaştırmayı ve analiz etmeyi, yaşam, ölüm ve egemenlik arasındaki ilişkiyi nasıl ele aldıklarına odaklanmayı amaçlamaktadır. Tarihsel ve güncel örnekleri inceleyerek, bu kavramların nasıl etkileşime girdiğini ve mevcut siyaseti nasıl şekillendirdiğini anlamaya çalışmaktadır. Her teorinin toplumların yönetimi konusunda ayrı bakış açısı sunmasına rağmen, birlikte modern toplumdaki karmaşık güç, dışlama ve direniş dinamiklerini anlamak için kapsamlı bir çerçeve sağladıkları savunulacaktır.

Power and Politics: A Comparative Analysis of Bare Life, Biopolitics, and Necropolitics

Öz

This article explores the interrelated concepts of bare life, biopolitics, and necropolitics to critically examine the evolving ways in which modern states control and govern human populations. Drawing from the works of Giorgio Agamben, Michel Foucault, and Achille Mbembe, the paper highlights how power operates through different mechanisms: the reduction of individuals to mere survival in the case of bare life, the regulation and optimization of life within systems of biopolitics, and the sovereign decision over who must live and die as framed in necropolitics. The article focuses on the different forms of political power that shape the visibility and exclusion of populations in contemporary society. Through historical and contemporary examples, including refugee crises, public health systems, and state violence, I analyze how these concepts manifest in today’s globalized politics. Ultimately, the article aims to contribute to the ongoing discourse on sovereignty, exclusion, and resistance and offer insights into the dynamics of life, death, and power in the modern era. This article seeks to compare and analyze these three theories of power and focuses on how they address the relationship between life, death, and sovereignty. By examining historical and contemporary examples, such as refugee crises, pandemics, and state violence, I aim to understand how these concepts interact and shape our current political landscape. I will argue that while each theory presents a unique perspective on the management of populations, together they provide a comprehensive framework for understanding the complex dynamics of power, exclusion, and resistance in modern society.
