Nietzsche'de "Büyük Akıl" Olarak Beden

Öz

Bu çalışmada Nietzsche’de bedenin ‘büyük akıl’ olarak adlandırılmasının anlamı ve bedenin onun felsefesindeki önemi ele alınmıştır. Nietzsche, Batı felsefesinde ruh, akıl ve aşkın hakikat lehine ikincil konuma indirgenen bedeni yeniden düşüncenin merkezine taşımış, bedeni hor gören söylemlerin dahi bedensellikten bağımsız olmadığını, aksine yaşamdan hoşnutsuz veya zayıflamış bir bedenin belirtisi olarak ortaya çıktığını ileri sürmüştür. Bu bakımdan Nietzsche’ye göre Batı felsefesinde hiyerarşik olarak aşağıda görülen beden, esasında insanın en önemli dayanağıdır. Ancak bu Nietzsche’nin klasik düalizmi tersine çevirdiği ve söz konusu düalizmi başka türlü devam ettirdiği anlamına gelmez. Beden, Nietzsche’de ruh-beden ya da akıl-beden düalizminin tersine çevrilerek üstünlük kazandırılan düalist bir ilke değildir. Bilakis, bu tür düalizmleri geçersiz kılan bir başlangıç noktasıdır. Düalizmleri iptal eden bir başlangıç noktası olarak beden vurgusu, Nietzsche’nin özne, bilinç ve akıl eleştirileriyle bir bağ içinde gündeme gelir. Kartezyen cogito’nun ve özne vurgusunun temelde dilsel alışkanlıklara dayalı bir yanılsama olduğunu düşünen Nietzsche, hakikat arzumuzun ve kavramlara olan inancımızın bu alışkanlıklardan kaynaklandığını öne sürer. Bedenin vurgulanması bu alışkanlıklara dayalı kavramların sorgulanması anlamına gelir. Kesinlik arzusuyla oluşturulan kavramlara karşı beden, Nietzsche felsefesindeki birçok kavram gibi, sabit ve mutlak değil, deneysel ve yoruma açık bir zemin olarak karşımıza çıkar. Bedenin, büyük akıl olarak adlandırılması ve onun çoğulluğunun gündeme getirilmesi, Nietzsche’nin estetik bir zeminde işleyen felsefesi temel karakteriyle uyumludur. Bu çerçevede çalışma, Nietzsche’nin beden felsefesinin tamamlanmış ve sabit bir öğreti değil, sürekli yeniden açılan bir soruşturma olarak okunması gerektiğini öne sürmektedir.

The Body as "Great Reason" in Nietzsche

Öz

This study examines the meaning of the body’s designation as the “great reason” in Nietzsche and the significance of the body within his philosophy. Nietzsche brought the body, which in Western philosophy had been relegated to a secondary position in favor of the soul, reason, and transcendent truth, back to the center of philosophical thought. He argued that even discourses that disparage the body are not independent of embodiment, but rather emerge as a symptom of a weakened body. In this respect, according to Nietzsche, the body, which has been hierarchically subordinated in Western philosophy, is in fact the human being’s most important ground. However, this does not mean that Nietzsche merely reverses the classical dualism and thereby perpetuates it in another form. The body in Nietzsche is not a dualistic principle that is granted superiority by inverting the soul-body or mind-body dualism. Rather, it is a starting point that renders such dualisms void. This emphasis on the body as a starting point that nullifies dualisms emerges in connection with Nietzsche’s critiques of the subject, consciousness, and reason. Holding that the Cartesian cogito and the emphasis on the subject are fundamentally an illusion rooted in linguistic habits, Nietzsche argues that our desire for truth and our belief in concepts stem from these same habits. To emphasize the body is thus to call into question the concepts grounded in these habits. As opposed to concepts constructed out of a desire for certainty, the body, like many other concepts in Nietzsche's philosophy, emerges not as fixed and absolute but as an experimental ground open to interpretation. The designation of the body as the great reason, together with the foregrounding of its plurality, is consistent with the fundamental character of Nietzsche's philosophy, which operates on an aesthetic ground. Within this framework, the study argues that Nietzsche's philosophy of the body should be read not as a completed and fixed doctrine but as an inquiry that is continually reopened.
