EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT TILLAGE PRACTICES ON POTATO PLANT
Öz
Tillage is one of factors influencing the obtaining of maximum crop in plant production. Potato is considered as a sensitive plant to tillage compared to other most plants. This property results from tuber formation under soil. In general, root and tuber development of potato plants grown in compacted soils are restrained and tuber yield and size decreases. Consequently, tillage is not likely to be eliminated entirely. Soil and climate conditions as well as the objectives expected from tillage must be considered in selecting a suitable method of tillage.
