The Effect of Liquid Animal Manure on Vegetative Growth and Fiber Properties Used As Top-Dressing in Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)Cultivation

The production inputs must be chosen carefully
for profitable and efficient agricultural activities, and outputs that produced
during and after production process should be assessed effectively. In this
study, usability
of liquid animal manure used for top-dressıng in cotton was discussed. The
experiment was established in Nazilli Cotton Research Station. The trail
consisted of 6 subjects, 2 of them were control subjects and 4 of them were
liquid animal manure dose subjects. Liquid animal manure doses were 4, 8, 12 and 16 kg N/da, and control applications were 0 and 9 kg N/da (chemical fertilizer). In the study,
earliness, number of open boll, number of closed boll; ginning outturn, 100
seed weight, fiber strength, fiber length, fiber fineness values were analyzed.
As a result of the study, it was determined that liquid animal manure
applications had positive effects on ginning outturn, and 100 seed weight.
Animal manure applications had same class intervals with chemical fertilizer
applications on quality parameters and there was no statistically difference
between them.
