Foreign language education is a long and difficult process for teachers as well as students. In many parts of the world, foreign language teaching is carried out with various methods and techniques. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, every institution in the world and in our country was doing this teaching more face-to-face. With the Covid-19 outbreak, education has been tried to be carried out remotely through various platforms in order to prevent the spread of the epidemic. Switching to distance education, which has existed in the recent past but is not so intense and long-term, requires getting used to the new normal and resolving the problems experienced in the process. As in every field of education, it has raised questions for educators about how foreign language teaching will be in the transition process to distance education in foreign language education. Although this situation catches teachers and students unprepared because of a sudden transition, studies on language teaching with distance education have been researched and based on these studies, the points to be considered in language teaching with distance education have been compiled and suggestions have been made to foreign language teachers. This research is a survey study and was compiled by making descriptive analysis through document review. It is thought that it will help teachers who teach languages through distance education to pay attention. The advantages and disadvantages, concepts and models of distance education have been researched and the principles that teachers should pay attention to in distance education have been compiled. There are many factors to be an effective language teacher in distance education. Some of them were compiled in this study. In the research, categories were created based on the literature review, such as the training of teachers, making a lesson plan, applying a model in language teaching, using technology effectively, keeping students' motivation high, providing feedback to students, and providing socialization in distance education, and researches on these categories were presented.
