Mastitis and breast abscess are very rare infectious conditions in the neonatal period. Although the etiology has not been clarified yet, the manipulation of breast tissue and the immaturity of the neonatal immune system may be predisposing factors for these conditions. These infections usually seen in the first 2 months of life, caused by Staphylococcus aureus may also cause systemic complications. Herein, a 7-day-old male baby with breast abscess has been reported and the important points of these infections that may cause severe problems have been emphasized
