Down Sendromlu Bir Çocukta Bilateral Bazal Gangliyon Kalsifikasyonu

Yıl 2009, Cilt: 3 Sayı: 3, 42 - 46, 01.06.2009

Öz

Bazal gangliyon kalsifikasyonu (BGK), Down sendromlu çocuk hastalarda saptanabilen oldukça nadir bir komplikasyondur. Bu komplikasyonun Down sendromlu olgularda görülme sıklığı yaşla birlikte artmaktadır.

BILATERAL BASAL GANGLIA CALCIFICATION IN A CHILD WITH DOWN SYNDROME

Basal ganglia calcification (BGC) is a rare complication which can be determined in children with Down syndrome (DS). Prevalence of BGC in DS increases with age. It may be related to the premature aging characteristic of DS. In this paper, it is presented a patient with DS who has bilateral BGC detected incidentally by cranial computed tomography
