THE NOGHAY PEOPLE: POLITICAL DIVIDEDNESS CAUSING ETHNIC DISUNITY / НОГАЙСКИЙ НАРОД: ПОЛИТИЧЕСКАЯ РАЗДЕЛЕННОСТЬ, СПОСОБСТВУЮЩАЯ ЭТНИЧЕСКОЙ РАЗОБЩЕННОСТИ

Abstract

One of the problems inherited from the former Soviet Union is the issue of divided peoples. Today many ethnic groups, people, and nations are facing problems stemming from dividedness. One of these peoples are the Noghays. The most unfortunate twist of fate for the Noghays was the rapid expansion of the Russian Empire and its fighting against the Ottomans for competition for power. In actual fact, Noghays became a target for elimination during these wars. Noghays who experienced many pogroms, (forced) migration, and deportations today live in the South of Russia and struggle not only for their ethnic unity, but also against serious socio-cultural problems.

NOGAY HALKI: SİYASAL BÖLÜNMÜŞLÜĞÜN ETNİK BÜTÜNLÜK ÜZERİNDEKİ TAHRİBATI

Öz

Sovyetler Birliğinin dağılmasından sonra ortaya çıkan sorunlardan biri de bölünmüş halklar sorunudur. Birçok etnik topluluk, halk veya ulus günümüzde bölünmüşlüğün bir sonucu olarak çeşitli sorunlarla karşı karşıyadır. Bu halklardan biri de Nogaylardır. Nogayların kaderini belirleyen en talihsiz faktör Rus İmparatorluğunun hızla yayılması ile birlikte etkinlik alanını genişletme çabası ve rekabet uğruna Osmanlı İmparatorluğu ile savaşması olmuştur. Nogaylar bu savaşlarda adeta bir tasfiye hedefi haline gelmişlerdir. Çok sayıda kıyım, göç ve sürgüne maruz kalan Nogay toplumu bugün Rusya’nın güney bölgesinde ciddi biçimde etnik bütünlüğünü korumaya yönelik sosyo-kültürel sorunlarla mücadele etmektedir.
