Perspectives on Halal Food Certificate as Marketing Strategy of Hotels

High profitability and competitive advantage of Halal tourism lead hotels to this market. In this sense, it is important that the catering services offered by hotels have halal content and have the halal certificate issued by various institutions. In this study, how the hotel managers view the "Halal Food" certificate was evaluated. It was also aimed to arose and increase the awareness of halal food in hotels. The data of this study were collected from 7 hotel managers in Erzurum Palandöken through face to face interviews. This study results show that hotel managers do not fully require halal food certification. The managers explained the reason as they do not have any doubt about foods because they supply households using the local and reliable brands. In addition to this, managers stated that they are more intensely address domestic market and that there has been no demand from the customers for a halal certificate. The results were evaluated in the direction of the findings obtained.
