Determination and Characterization of Triclosan on Polyethylene Terephthalate Fibers

In this study, in order to investigate the presence of the triclosan on the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fibers after finishing treatments, both triclosan and its derivate solutions were prepared and the presence of triclosan was found at retention time of 12.04-12.18 min. by GC-MS. SEM results showed that fiber surface became very smooth and -1 bright after coating and the vibrational bands in the region of 722 and 570 cm implied the presence of triclosan on fiber surface by FTIR studies.

Polietilen Tereftalat Liflerindeki Triklosanın Belirlenmesi ve Karakterizasyonu

Öz

Bu çalýþmada, bitim iþlemi sonrasýnda polietilen tereftalat liflerinde triklosan varlýðýný incelemek için saf triklosan ve ticari bir triklosan çözeltisi kullanýlmýþtýr. GC-MS yardýmýyla 12,04-12,18 dakika zamanlarýnda triklosan varlýðý bulunmuþtur. SEM sonuçlarý, uygulamadan sonra lif yüzeyinin daha düzgün ve daha parlak olduðunu ve FTIR -1 çalýþmalarýndaki 722 ve 570 cm bölgelerindeki titreþim bantlarý ise, lif yüzeyinde triklosanýn varlýðýný göstermektedir.
