First, existingresearch on diffusion of disperse, reacti ve, and ionic dyes inpolymers and correlation of the rate of dyeing to the operating variables in the dyebath is reuiewed. Second, to discuss the kinetic aspects of uarious dyeingprocesses. the dyeing of textiles is classified into two categories: adsorptiue and reactive dyeings, and these two dyeingprocesses are modeled in terms of diffusion of dyes inpolymers accompanied by somephysicochemical interaction with thepolymersubstrates. Theprocess of adsorptive dyeing was formulated on the basis of a dual-mode sorption and mobility model where the porelike region was conuenientIy invoked. The calculatedprofiles of the concentration of immobilized dye are similar to the measurments of dye distribution curves by means of film-roll, microdensitonzetric, and microspectrophotometric techniques. The outline offornlulation of the process of dyeing with reactiue dyes (i.e. reactive dyeing) isgiven on the basis of diffusion of dye within the fiber accompanied by a fxation reaction incorporating hydrolysis of dye species. It is concluded from numerical analysis that the lower the bath ratio, the less the decrease of the final frration due to hydrolysis of the dye and the less the infulence of mixing in the dyebath on the frration. When the firntion reaction is slow, the final frration is almost independent of the bath ratio and the degree of mixing.

Reaktif boyalarla boyamaprosesinin (reaktif boyama) modellenmesi konusunun ana hatlarl; boya toneciklerinin hidmlizasyonunu iceren bir fiksoj reaksiyonu ile birlikte lifler icinde boyanrn difihyonu bazznda uerilmistir. Nzlmerik analizden pkan sonuclara gore, doha diiguk boya banyosu flotte oranr, boyanzn hidrolize durumuna gdre son banyodaki boyanrn lifler iizerindeki fiksqjrnzn diigmesine neden olup, boya banyosunun karzgtmlmasrnrn fiksaj renksiyonu iizerindeki etkisi de az olmaktad1r. Boyanzn lifter iizerindeki fiksqj reaksiyonu yauag olduF:u zaman, son banyodaki boyafiksajl p&nlukla flotte oranz ve kangtrrma derecesinden bagrmszzdlr.
