The Change Caused by the Transition of Ash'ari to Ahl-i Sunnah in the Religious Paradigm

Öz

One of the theologians who had the greatest influence in the history of Islamic thought is Ash‘ari. It successfully applied Mu‘tazilah's rational method to Salaf's views. The transition of a strong scholar like Ash'ari from Mu’tazilah to Ahl-i Sunnah increased the dialogue between the two schools. This dialogue is based on the kalam method. People of the submissive narration who refused this rational method started to lose the area. Ash'ari's taking place in the Ahl-i Sunnah side that considering the results, it went down in history as the first and biggest paradigm shift in Islamic thought. As well as adopting the views of the Ahl-i Sunnah, he added the mental examination to the passage, he did not abandon cosmology and theological method, centered on the substence-symptom concept couple. Both the method in Lüma and the quotations of Ibn Fûrek from other books reveal his different aspects and method from Mu‘tazilah and Salafiyya. In general, he put forward a third way that can be counted between the understanding of Mu‘tasilitie and Salafi’s uslüddin, in the area where he lives.
