Bulgular: Sağlık çalışanlarının %79,0'ı hemşire, %17,8'i COVID-19 biriminde çalışan ve %64,8'i günde 24 saat çalışan personelden oluşmaktadır.

Aim: The study was aimed to examine relationship between empathy and interpersonal sensitivity of healthcare professionals and their professional quality of life in the Pandemic Period.
Method: This study was conducted 162 healthcare professionals at a state hospital between November 2021-April 2022. The study data were collected through Identifying Information Form, Toronto Empathy Questionnaire, Interpersonal Sensitivity Measure and Professional Quality of Life Scale.
Results: 79.0% were nurses, 17.8% worked in the COVID-19 unit, and 64.8% worked 24 hours a day. A statistically significant relationship was determined between Toronto Empathy Questionnaire and Interpersonal Sensitivity Measure total scale mean scores and the subscales of Professional Quality of Life Scale (compassion satisfaction, burnout, compassion fatigue) (p<0.05). It was determined that the healthcare professionals had high empathy skills and moderate level of interpersonal sensitivity, that their compassion fatigue and burnout levels were low, and that their compassion satisfaction levels were above average. Empathy and interpersonal sensitivity together explained 12.9% of the variance in Compassion Satisfaction and 7.8% of the variance in Compassion Fatigue, whereas empathy alone accounted for 4.9% of the variance in Burnout.
Conclusion: It was found that as their empathy skills developed, their burnout levels decreased, that as their interpersonal sensitivity levels increased, their compassion fatigue levels increased, and that as their empathy skills and interpersonal sensitivity levels increased, their compassion satisfaction increased.
