THE MEDIATING ROLE OF TALENT MANAGEMENT IN THE EFFECT OF HIGH-PERFORMANCE WORK SYSTEMS ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE

Öz

This study aims to examine the effect of high-performance work systems on employee performance and to reveal the mediating role of talent management in this relationship. Conducted in the banking sector, the research develops a conceptual model based on the increasing importance of high-performance work system practices in contemporary work environments and analyzes the causal relationships among three key variables: high-performance work systems, talent management, and employee performance. The population of the study consists of employees working in the banking sector in Turkey, and data were collected from 540 employees employed in banks in Istanbul using the convenience sampling method. The data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed in AMOS to test the validity and reliability of the measurement scales, while the effects of the proposed model were examined using Hayes regression analysis in SPSS. The findings indicate that high-performance work systems have a significant effect on employee performance and that talent management plays a mediating role in this relationship.
