FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTS IN THE TURKISH FOREST PRODUCTS INDUSTRY

Öz

As a result of the Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) which has grown in importance in the global economy, FDIs in Turkey have increased more than before, intensively. In accordance with increasing the FDIs in the world, Forest Products Industry (FPI), a subdivision of the Manufacturing Sector, attracted the interest of the FDIs. In this paper, the situations of the FDIs in the FPI and its rank in the Manufacturing Sector were examined. Cross tables illustrating the quality and quantity of the FPI and Manufacturing Sector were presented and analysed using x2 Tests. It was found out that Cellulose, Paper and Cardboard Sector was selected more than other subdivision in the FPI for foreign investment and the FDIs in the FPI settled in the city where the FDIs in the Manufacturing Sector were situate. TÜRK ORMAN ÜRÜNLERİ SANAYİ'NDE DOĞRUDAN YABANCI SERMAYE YATIRIMLARI

Öz

Yabancı sermayeli yatırımların dünya ekonomisindeki öneminin artmasının bir sonucu olarak ülkemize giren yabancı sermaye miktarında önceki dönemlere göre daha yoğun bir artış olmuştur. İmalat Sanayi'nin bir alt kolu olan Orman Ürünleri Sanayi (OÜS) sektörü de dünyadaki artışla uyumlu olarak doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarının ilgisini çekmiştir. Bu çalışmada, doğrudan yabancı sermayeli yatırımların OÜS alt sektörlerindeki dağılımı ve İmalat Sanayi içindeki yeri araştırılmıştır. Orman Ürünleri ve İmalat Sektörü'nün nitelik ve niceliklerini gösteren çapraz tablolar sunulmuş ve x2 testleri kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Selüloz, Kağıt ve Karton Sektörü'nün yatırım için daha çok tercih edildiği ve yabancı sermaye yatırımlarının yoğunlaştığı illerde faaliyet gösteriyor oldukları bulunmuştur.
