A cooperation in wildlife activities by university, rural people and public authorities: Wild boar census in Aksu model hunting ground
Öz
This study is carried out in Isparta/Aksu town. In order to determine wild boar population size, drive census of direct count technique were used. This study was carried out in the total 275 ha in 6 sample plots by technical support of Isparta Environment and Forest Directorate workers. By contributions of local people such as villager, hunters or shepherd from surrounding area it was comprised the driver line of count. In addition to that, students from Sütçüler vocational school have also helped us as observer in wild boar inventory. The result of the study showed that 68 males, 71 females and 32 juveniles wild boar live in the hunting ground. Inventory data includes size of the population, population density, number of mature individuals and annual harvest number. Besides, biological data from the hunting ground was consolidated with biopolitical data obtained from surrounded villages.
