Aim: The aim of this research is to determine the effect of fear of Covid-19 on vaccination and death anxiety.
Materials and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted between September and December 2021. The data was collected using the Google Forms online survey. Questionnaire form, Death Anxiety Scale and Covid-19 Fear Scale were applied to collect the data. T-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson Correlation analysis and multiple logistic regression analysis were used in the statistical analysis of the data.
Results: The mean age of the participants was 37.39 ± 12.31 years. It was stated that 83.4% of the individuals had the Covid-19 vaccine and 77.8% of those vaccinated completed the first dose of vaccine. There was a positive statistically significant relationship between the Covid-19 Fear Scale and the Death Anxiety Scale total score (r=0.604, p<0.001), and a negative statistically significant relationship between the Covid-19 Fear Scale Total score and the Covid-19 vaccination status (r=- 1.163, p<0.001). It was concluded that the change in the total score level of the Covid-19 Fear Scale was explained by death anxiety and Covid-19 vaccination status at a rate of 37% (R2= 0.374).
Conclusion: As a result of this study, it was found that the fear of Covid-19 and death anxiety was moderate, and the fear of Covid-19 was higher in those who had the Covid-19 vaccine.
