THE EVALUATION OF VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF HEALTHCARE SERVICES STUDENTS’ ATTITUDES TOWARD BRAIN DRAIN

Öz

Introduction: Brain drain is increasing among healthcare professionals.

Purpose: This research was conducted to determine the attitudes of students studying in health departments towards brain drain.

Materials and methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional design was conducted. The study sample consisted of 425 students. Data were collected via an online survey using a Personal Information Form and the Attitudes towards Brain Drain Scale for Nursing Students (ATDS).

Results: In the study, the pulling of the students' ASTBD was 32.61, the pushing was 8.09, and the total mean score was 40.07. ASTBD scores differed significantly according to gender, department, foreign language level, prior experience abroad, perception of their profession, and preferred countries for future employment (p < 0,05). 

Conclusion: This study found that students' attitudes toward brain drain were moderate.
