Öz

In modern Olympic history, the concept of “Communiter” was added to the slogan “Citius, Altius, Fortius” proposed by Pierre de Coubertin and first used in the 1924 Paris Games on July 20, 2021. The study aims to examine the requirements of the slogan change, the change process, the way it is reflected in the 2020 Tokyo Games and its effects on modern Olympic history. As a result of the data obtained, the study gains importance in terms of its contributions to thesports history literature. The research is a qualitative study and the document scanning method was used. The literature on the Olympics was reviewed with the Document/Text analysis method with secondary source scanning. Then, the data at hand was analyzed with the semiotic method and the main meaning and connotations were created. When the obtained data was examined, the projects prepared by the IOC since 2013 for the games to continue and the Olympic movement to maintain its power in the changing world were implemented in the Tokyo 2020 Games and the results were served to the whole world through works of art and athletes.

Modern Olimpiyat Oyunları Tarihinde Değişen Olimpiyat Sloganının Tokyo 2020 Çerçevesinde İncelenmesi

Öz

Modern Olimpiyat tarihinde Pierre de Coubertin tarafından önerilen ve ilk kez 1924 Paris Oyunlarında kullanılan “Citius, Altius, Fortius” sloganına 20 Temmuz 2021 de “Communiter” kavramı eklenmiştir. Çalışmada slogan değişiminin gereklilikleri, değişim süreci, 2020 Tokyo oyunlarına yansıma şekli ve modern olimpiyat tarihine etkilerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler sonucunda çalışma spor tarihi literatürüne sağlayacağı katkılar yönüyle önem kazanmaktadır. Araştırma nitel bir çalışma olup belge tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. İkincil kaynak taramasıyla olimpiyatlarla ilgili literatür Doküman/Metin analizi yöntemiyle gözden geçirilmiştir. Daha sonra eldeki verilere göstergebilim yöntemi ile çözümleme yapılmış olup ana anlam ve yan anlamlar oluşturulmuştur. Elde edilen veriler incelendiğinde IOC’nin 2013 yılından itibaren oyunların devam etmesi ve değişen dünyada olimpik hareketin gücünü koruyabilmesi için hazırladığı projeler Tokyo 2020 oyunlarında uygulanmış olup sonuçları sanat eserleri ve sporcular aracılığıyla tüm dünyaya servis edilmiştir.
