2007 Seçimlerinde İzmir İli Kentsel Alanında Oy Verme Davranışı Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Öz

Küreselleşme süreci ve 12 Eylül rejimi Türkiye’de seçmen tercihlerini köklü biçimde etkilemiştir. 12 Eylül rejiminin beraberinde getirdiği Türkİslam sentezi yaklaşımı, küresel bir eğilim olan siyasette ideolojilerin yerine din ve kültürün geçmesi eğilimiyle koşutluk göstermektedir. Bu sürecin sonunda siyaseti belirleyen öğeler toplumsal sınıf ve ideoloji yerine kimlik, kültür ve din olmuştur. Türkiye’de siyasal İslam’ın yükselişe geçtiği bu süreç seçmen tercihlerini etkilemiş; laikantilaik ayrımı başat olmuştur. Toplumsal sınıf ayrımına bakılmaksızın tercihler bu iki öğe arasında gelişmektedir. Bu ayrım açısından ele alındığında İzmir Türkiye genelinin dışında özel bir durum arz etmektedir. Bununla birlikte araştırmada İzmirli seçmenin küresel eğilimlere uygun olarak toplumsal sınıf ayrımı yapmaksızın siyasetini laiklik ve çağdaşlık üzerine oluşturmuş olan partiye oy verdiği görülmektedir.

A Field Study on Voting Behavior in the Urban Area of İzmir Province in July 22 nd  Elections

Abstract

Globalization process and military regime established after 12 September coup had a profound impact on voter preferences in Turkey. The approach of Turk Islam synthesis espoused by 12 September military regime shows close parallelisms with global tendency of replacing ideologies with religion and culture. Today, identity, culture and religion are the determinants of political processes rather than class and ideologies. Secularismnonsecularism dichotomy has become the dominant issue in the process in which the revival of Islam has influenced the preferences of voters. Voter preferences seem to be greatly influenced by this dichotomy. However, voters in İzmir seem to act according to global preferences without reference to class differences and vote for those parties that base their propaganda on secularism and modernism.
