Sosyal medya kullanımının yaygınlaşması ile birlikte gündeme gelen FOMO kavramı, gelişmeleri kaçırma korkusu olarak bilinmektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında “FOMO” kavramının gelişimini incelemek ve çalışma alanlarını belirlemek amacıyla bibliyometrik analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada Clarivate Analytics bünyesinde yer alan Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanı kullanılarak çeşitli bibliyometrik veriler elde edilmiştir.

The concept of FOMO, which came to the fore with the widespread use of social media, is known as the fear of missing out. Within the scope of this study, bibliometric analysis technique was used to examine the development of the "FOMO" concept and to determine the study areas. In the study, various bibliometric data were obtained using the Web of Science (WoS) database within Clarivate Analytics. In the study, only the article title was selected for scanning and all fields were scanned. VOSviewer (1.6. 20) package program was used to map the data analysis. According to the findings of the study, the concept of FOMO started to be used in 2013. In the following years, the frequency of use increased. As a result of this study, it is seen that the field that uses the concept of FOMO the most is multidisciplinary psychology.
