Contribution to the Diurnal and Nocturnal Lepidoptera fauna of Turkish Thrace

Öz

This study was performed in Trakya University Arboretum, an isolated area with its rich floral elements, in order to determine the Lepidopteran species new for Thrace Region and Edirne. Specimens were collected during spring and summer in 2008 using a trap during daytime, and during autumn and winter in 2008 and 2009 using a light trap. The identification of the collected material revealed 18 species from 7 families of which 5 are new records for Turkish Thrace and 13 for Edirne Province Lepidoptera fauna

TRAKYA BÖLGESİ DIURNAL ve NOCTURNAL LEPIDOPTERA FAUNASINA KATKILAR

Öz

Bu çalışma, zengin bitki örtüsüyle izole bir alan olan T.Ü. Arboretumu’nda Trakya bölgesi ve Edirne için yeni lepidopterleri tesbit amacıyla yapılmıştır. Örnekler 2008 yılında ilkbahar-yaz aylarında gündüz atrapla, 2008-2009 yıllarında ise sonbahar ve kış aylarında ise ışık tuzağı ile toplanmışlardır. Çalışma sonucunda 7 familyaya ait 18 tür tespit edilmiş, bunlardan 5’i Trakya bölgesi, 13’si ise Edirne ili Lepidoptera faunası için ilk kayıt olarak belirlenmiştir
