JOHANNA MAGDALENA BEYER’İN “MOVEMENT FOR DOUBLE BASS AND PIANO” ESERİNİN İNCELENMESİ VE YORUMLAMA ÖNERİLERİ

Öz

Bu çalışmada döneminin önemli kadın bestecilerinden olan Johanna Magdalena Beyer’in hayatı ve kontrbas için bestelediği Movement adlı eseri incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı J. M. Beyer’in Movement adlı eserinin yapısal ve melodik analizinin yapılması ve parçanın kendine özgü olan yapısal özelliklerinin J. M. Beyer’in bestecilik tarzı üzerinden açıklanarak daha iyi yorumlanmasını sağlamaktır. Bu kapsamda J. M. Beyer’in hayatı araştırılmış ve Movement eserinin analizi yapılmış olup, teknik zorluklar mercek altına alınmıştır. Bu çalışmada nitel bir veri analizi yöntemi olan doküman analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu metodoloji, araştırma verilerinin temel kaynağı olan dokümanların toplanması, detaylı bir şekilde incelenmesi, eleştirel bir bakış açısıyla sorgulanması ve bulguların çıkarılması süreçlerini içeren nitel bir bilimsel çalışma yöntemidir. Bu bağlamda literatür taranmış, müzik kayıtları dinlenmiş, parçanın notaları doküman olarak kullanılmış olup, analizler bu dokümanlar üzerinden yapılmıştır. J. M. Beyer 1930’larda New York’ta faaliyet gösteren modernist besteciler grubunun bir üyesi olmuştur. Kendi başına bir öncü olan Beyer, perküsyon topluluğu için eserler besteleyen ve elektronik müzik deneyleri yapan ilk bestecilerden birisidir. 1930’lu yılların ortalarında bestelenen Movement parçası dönemindeki diğer müzikal eğilimlerden ayrılan bir deneysellik ve özgünlük barındırmaktadır. J. M. Beyer, Movement parçasında atonalite, ritmik karmaşıklık ve enstrümantal tekniklerin kullanımıyla kendi müzikal dilini oluşturmuştur. J. M. Beyer’in Movement adlı eseri XX. yüzyılın önde gelen kadın bestecilerinden birisi olan sanatçının önemli bir yapıtıdır. J. M. Beyer döneminin deneysel müzik anlayışına oldukça fazla katkıda bulunmuştur.

Review Of Johanna Magdalena Beyer’s “Movement For Double Bass And Piano”

Öz

In this work, the life of Johanna Magdalena Beyer, one of the important female composers of her period, and her work titled Movement, composed for double bass, were examined. The aim of the study is to make a structural and melodic analysis of J. M. Beyer's work Movement and to provide a better interpretation of the unique structural features of the piece by explaining it through J. M. Beyer's composition style. In this context, J. M. Beyer's life was researched and his work Movement was analyzed and technical difficulties were examined. This study was conducted using the document analysis method, which is a qualitative data analysis method. This methodology is a qualitative scientific study method that includes the processes of collecting documents that are the main source of research data, examining them in detail, questioning them from a critical perspective, and extracting findings. In this context, the literature was scanned, music recordings were listened to, the notes of the piece were used as documents, and analyzes were made based on these documents. J. M. Beyer was a member of the group of modernist composers active in New York in the 1930s. A pioneer in his own right, Beyer was one of the first composers to compose for percussion ensemble and experiment with electronic music. The piece Movement, composed in the mid-1930s, contains an experimentalism and originality that distinguishes it from other musical trends of the period. J. M. Beyer created his own musical language in his Movement piece with the use of atonality, rhythmic complexity and instrumental techniques. J. M. Beyer's work Movement was published in the 20th century. It is an important work by the artist, one of the leading female composers of the 21st century. J. M. Beyer contributed greatly to the experimental music understanding of his period.
