Exploring the Impact of Self-Efficacy on Career Future Perception
Öz
The primary aim of this study is to examine the effect of self-efficacy on the perception of career future. For this purpose, the concepts addressed in the study were examined within the framework of the relevant literature, and the extent to which these concepts are related to each other was investigated. In line with the conducted literature review, a research model was developed based on the hypothesis that self-efficacy may have a positive effect on the perception of career future. To test the model, data obtained from 144 students who took the elective university course "Career Planning" during the 2025-2026 fall semester at Atatürk University were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods. University elective courses include subjects that can be taken by students from any department and chosen based on their areas of interest. In this sense, the study was conducted on the assumption that the students who selected the Career Planning course are interested in the subject and have a high level of awareness regarding career planning. The results show that students’ level of self-efficacy has a positive effect on their perception of career future.
