Television journalism is being restructured under the influence of economic, social and political
dynamics as well as technological developments. While it is stated that new technologies have
the effect of facilitating production practices in many business lines and reducing the workload
of employees, the effect on the workload of journalists is a controversial issue. In this study,
which aims to provide a perspective on the effects of new technologies on the factors that
make up the workload of television journalists, this study focuses on the production style
of the actors of the field. In the case of Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, which was
chosen as the focus of the study based on the purposeful sampling method, the factors that
determine the workload of television journalists are discussed, and the production activities
of the journalists working in this institution guide the research. According to the research
findings, It has been determined that live broadcasting with a mobile 4.5G device without time
and place limitations, fulfiling all processes of news organizations via WhatsApp application,
live broadcasting of almost every activity of corporate news sources over satellite frequency,
frequent posts from social media platforms and also intense message traffic caused by citizen
journalists have changed the workload factors for all the perpetrators of the field.
