Yeni koronavirüs hastalığının (COVID-19) etkisinin mortalitesi ile sınırlı olmadığı, dünya genelinde büyük bir nüfus üzerinde ruhsal etkileri olduğu dikkat çekmektedir. Bir salgın sırasında bireyler arasında en yaygın olarak korku ve anksiyete ile ilişkili belirtilerin görüldüğü bildirilmiştir. Ruhsal bozukluğu olmayan kişilerde gelişebilecek yeni psikiyatrik belirtiler, takipli psikiyatrik bozukluğu olanlarda belirtilerin kötüleşmesi, sosyal mesafelenme, izolasyon ve karantina gibi kısıtlayıcı önlemlerin bireyler üzerine etkileri, enfekte olan kişiler ve kayıp yaşayan bireyler üzerinde gelişebilecek ruhsal etkiler farklılık gösterebilmektedir. Mevcut bu sağlık krizi sırasında, COVID-19 enfeksiyonu olan hastalar dışında genel nüfus, yaşlılar, çocuklar, psikiyatrik bozukluğu olanlar ve sağlık profesyonelleri arasında da ruhsal sorunlarda artış olduğu bildirilmiştir. Bu yazıda mevcut salgın sürecinin farklı gruplar üzerinde gözlenebilen ruhsal ve davranışsal etkilerin, yakın tarihli çalışmalar ve geçmiş salgın dönemlerindeki dünya deneyimleri ile sentezlenerek sunulması amaçlanmıştır.

Mental and Behavioral Evaluation of During and After the Pandemic

Öz

The new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has remarkable psychological impacts on most of the population worldwide including but not limited to mortality. The symptoms associated with fear and anxiety are commonly observed among individuals during an epidemic. Differences may be observed among new psychiatric symptoms that may develop in people without mental disorders, worsening symptoms in people with psychiatric disorder follow-ups, the psychological impacts of the restrictive measures such as
social distancing, isolation, and quarantine on individuals, and the psychological impacts that may be seen in infected individuals and individuals experiencing loss. Apart from the patients with COVID-19 infections, an increase in mental problems was also reported among the general population; the elderly, children, those with psychiatric disorders, and healthcare professionals during this current health crisis. This article aimed to present the observable psychological and behavioral impacts of the current epidemic on various social
units by synthesizing these impacts with the recent studies and world experiences in previous epidemics.
