Problem Davranışların İşlevlerinin Belirlenmesinde Standart İşlevsel Analiz Test Oturumlarının Düzenlenmesi

Öz

İşlevsel analiz, problem davranışların işlevlerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilen İşlevsel Değerlendirme sürecinin bir alt aşamasıdır ve problem davranışın işlevinin belirlenmesinin güç olduğu veya betimsel yöntemlerin yeterli olmadığı durumlarda gerçekleştirilmektedir. Uluslararası alanyazın incelendiğinde, işlevsel analiz sürecinin uygulamalı davranış analizinde çok önemli bir yer tuttuğu ve pek çok araştırmada uygulandığı görülmektedir. Ancak ülkemiz alanyazınında işlevsel analiz sürecine ilişkin çok sınırlı sayıda kaynak yer almaktadır. Dolayısıyla bu çalışmada, standart işlevsel analiz test oturumlarının nasıl düzenlenmesi gerektiğine yönelik bilgi verilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, uluslarası alanyazında konu ile ilgili yer alan kaynaklar ve işlevsel analiz sürecine yer veren makaleler incelenerek, elde edilen bilgiler derlenmiştir. Bu yolla, çalışmanın işlevsel analiz konusunda ülkemiz alanyazınınındaki eksikliğe hizmet edeceği; test oturumlarının nasıl gerçekleştirileceğine yönelik alanda çalışan araştırmacılara ve uygulamacılara katkı sağlayacağı ve çalışma sonunda elde edilen önerilerin ileri araştırmalara olumlu etkileri olacağı düşünülmektedir.

Conducting Standard Experimental Functional Analysis Test Sessions to Determine the Functions of Problem Behaviors

Öz

Functional Assessment refers to a set of methods used to determine contextual variables that cause and follow problem behavior, and Functional Analysis constitutes a subcategory of the broad functional assessment process. Through functional analysis, it is possible to directly and systematically test the hypotheses that are thought to cause problem behavior and to determine the function of the problem behavior and conducting a functional analysis process enables the use of appropriate methods for the functions of the problem behavior. An international literature review would demonstrate that functional analysis process was prevalent in applied behavior analysis and there are several research, application and books on the topic. However, it could be observed that there is only very limited number of resources related to the functional analysis process in Turkey, and applications concerning this process has not yet been conducted. Thus, the objective of the present study was to provide information on how to organize standard functional analysis test sessions. For this purpose, internationally available resources and articles that include the functional analysis process were examined and the obtained information is compiled. Thus, it is considered that the study will contribute to the gap in the national literature on functional analysis and assist the field researchers and practitioners in conducting test sessions. Furthermore, the recommendations presented at the end of the study are considered to have positive effects on future studies.
