The Importance of Job Satisfaction and Job Commitment for Sustainable Performance: An Application On Health Sector

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of job satisfaction and commitment on sustainable performance and the relationship between job satisfaction and commitment. Data were collected from healthcare professionals through a structured questionnaire in September-October 2024. In the analysis of the data, the psychometric properties of the tool used in the research were tested. Correlation and multiple regression were used as statistical techniques for the analysis of hypotheses. As a result of the analysis performed, it was determined that there was a significant relationship between job satisfaction and commitment to work in line with the hypotheses of the research; and job satisfaction and commitment to work also had a significant effect on sustainable performance. The research may have practical implications and, of course, social impacts. As a practical implication, the relevant study contributes to the literature. The research suggests that healthcare organizations need to be aware of the importance of both the relationship and balance of job satisfaction, commitment to work, and performance in achieving holistic efficiency. In terms of social contribution, it can be stated that the fact that the sample covers an important sector can contribute to the functioning of a larger ecosystem and thus contribute to the welfare of society.
