In this study, the two women writers, one of them is Turkish and the other one is Armenian, who were influential during the last period of the Ottoman Empire, Halide Edip Adıvar and Sırpuhi Düsap, and their life and works will be examined. It is understood that both authors have in common with each other in terms of both the social structure in which they were and the themes they work. This study will examine the both Düsap and Adıvar's life, their education, character and their perspective on women's issues; how they stand differently than other women of their time and finally their impact on society. Düsap has an important place in the Armenian literature and Armenian women writers. Similarly, Adıvar is known as the author who intertwined with different segments of society and was interested with the education of women during the Turkish national movement period and before it. Although Adıvar gave more space to the subject of national movement than Düsap when we look at the content of these works, it is observed that the issue of women's struggle and national movements are the most dominant themes. In Adıvar's works, the women who had been subjected to torture and had been dedicated their life to the independence of their country are at the forefront. In Düsap's works, the critics towards the social insensitivity on the inferior treatment of women are in the foreground.
