Öz

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the psychological needs of university students and their career indecision. The participants of the study consisted of 322 university students in total, 196 female and 126 male. The ages of the participants ranged from 18 to 29. “The Balanced Measure of Psychological Needs Scale” and “The Career Decision Scale” were used to collect data in the study. The collected data were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis and Structural Equation Modeling-based path analysis. As a result of the analyses, it was found that three basic psychological needs (autonomy, relatedness, competence) were significantly negatively correlated with career indecision and were also significant negative predictors of career indecision. These findings indicate that increasing psychological need satisfaction is associated with decreasing career indecision of university students.
