Examiantion of Variation Seismic P-Velocity with the Joint Density in Rocks

Abstract

The seismic velocities are greatly affected by rock type, density, grain size and shape, porosity, temperature and water content etc. In addition to these parameters, it is known the effect of joint system and density on ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) was measured on the artificial joints created in different distances in two different rock types and the relationship between joint rock density and UPV was investigated statistically and the results were assessed with the results found in literature

Kayalar İçinde Sismik P-Dalgasının Kırık Yoğunluğu İle Değişiminin İncelenmesi

Öz

Sismik hızlar büyük ölçüde kayaç türü, yoğunluk, dane büyüklük ve şekli, porozite, sıcaklık, su içeriği vs. gibi parametrelerden etkilenir. Bunların dışında kayaçlar içinde bulunan kırık sistem ve yoğunluğunun da sismik hızlar üzerindeki etkileri bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada iki farklı tipteki prizmatik kaya örnekleri içinde farklı mesafelerde oluşturulan yapay eklem dizilerinde ultrasonik puls hızı (UPH) ölçülmüş ve eklem sayıları ile (UPH) hızları arasındaki ilişkiler istatistiksel olarak incelenmiş ve sonuçlar literatürdeki değerlerle karşılaştırılmıştır
