Salgın Döneminde Bir Devlet Hastanesinde Sağlık Çalışanlarının Uyku Hijyeni


Amaç: Bu çalışma, Finike Devlet hastanesi çalışanlarında, pandemi döneminde yoğun iş temposu ile uyku hijyeni arasındaki ilişkinin araştırılması amacıyla yapıldı.

Materyal-metod: Kesitsel tipteki araştırmamıza Finike Devlet Hastanesinde çalışan personel dahil edildi. Veriler hastanede aktif olarak pandemi sürecinde görev alan personelin Tanıtıcı Anket Formu ve Uyku Hijyeni İndeksi kullanılarak yapıldı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde; tanımlayıcı istatistik, t testi ve ANOVA analizi yapıldı.


Bulgular: Çalışmamıza hemşire, sağlık memuru, doktor, sekreter ve temizlik personelinden oluşan toplam 102 sağlık çalışanı (Erkek: 34, (%33.3); Kadın: 68, (%66.7)) katıldı. Çalışmamıza katılan sağlık çalışanlarının çoğunluğu cerrahi bölümde (21, %20,6), yoğun bakımda (17, %16.7), acil serviste (16, %15.7) ve poliklinikte (12, %11.8) çalışmaktaydı. Sağlık çalışanlarının vücut kitle indeksi (VKİ) Erkek: 26.31±3.88 kg/m2, Kadın: 24.77±3.87 kg/m2 olarak bulundu. Uyku hijyeni indekslerine bakıldığında Erkek: 18.08±11.40; Kadın: 14.83±7.39 olarak bulundu. Uyku hijyeni indeksi ve cinsiyet arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmadı (p>0.05) fakat erkekte uyku hijyeni indeks puanı daha yüksekti. Acil çalışanları ile temizlik hizmetlerinde çalışanlar arasında uyku hijyeni indeksi puanı yönünden istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulundu (p=0.029) ve acilde çalışanlarda daha yüksekti. Yoğun bakım ve temizlik hizmetlerinde çalışanlarda uyku hijyeni indeksi puanı yönünden istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulundu (p=0.019) ve yoğun bakım çalışanlarında daha yüksekti.
Sonuç: Yoğun bakım ve acil bölümünde çalışanlarda uyku hijyeni indeksinin anlamlı olarak yüksek olduğu ve bu ünitelerdeki iş yoğunluğunun çalışan kişilerin uyku hijyenlerini etkilediği saptandı. Bu bölümlerde çalışanlara uyku hijyeni eğitimi verilmesi iş performansı açısından uygun olacaktır.

Sleep Hygiene of Healthcare Professionals in a State Hospital During an Epidemic Period

Abstract
Aim: This study was conducted in order to investigate the relationship between busy work pace and sleep hygiene in Finike State Hospital employees during the pandemic period.
Material-method: Personnel working in Finike State Hospital were included in our cross-sectional study. The data were made using the Introductory Questionnaire and the Sleep Hygiene Index of the staff actively involved in the pandemic process. In evaluating the data; descriptive statistics, t test and ANOVA analysis were done.
Results: A total of 102 healthcare workers (Male: 34, (33.3%); Female: 68, (66.7%)), including nurses, health officers, doctors, secretaries and cleaning staff, participated in our study. Most of the healthcare professionals participating in our study were working in the surgical department (21, 20.6%), intensive care (17, 16.7%), in the emergency department (16, 15.7%) and in the outpatient clinic (12, 11.8%). Body mass index (BMI) of healthcare workers was found as: 26.31 ± 3.88 kg / m2, female: 24.77 ± 3.87 kg / m2.When the sleep hygiene index was examined, Male: 18.08 ± 11.40; Female: It was found as 14.83 ± 7.39.No statistically significant difference was found between sleep hygiene index and gender (p> 0.05), but sleep hygiene index score was higher in men. There was a statistically significant difference (p = 0.029), and it was higher in those working in the emergency care and cleaning services in terms of sleep hygiene index score (p = 0.019), and it was higher in intensive care workers.
Discussion: It was found that sleep hygiene index was significantly higher in those working in the intensive care and emergency departments, and the workload in these units affected the sleep hygiene of the employees. Providing sleep hygiene training to employees in these departments will be appropriate in terms of job performance.
