The
livestock sector is strategically important in terms of providing food supply adequately
for reasons such as food safety and food security. The aim of this study is to
offer contributions of female academicians who carry out studies in Veterinary
Faculties in Turkey on livestock sector the problems encountered and solutions
for these problems. In addition, it has been tried to determine what
contribution they have made to animal husbandry. Therefore, this study was
conducted with 220 female academicians in veterinary faculty who agreed to
participate in the study. According to female academics are the most
important problems in the livestock sector come high input costs (feed, fuel,
fertilizer, etc.), challenges in the production and marketing stages and the
continued importation. 44.5% of the participants of due diligence and solution
point of the current livestock policies in Turkey stated that the ineffective
of the veterinary faculty. In the study; furthermore, while 36.4% of the
participants did not find livestock policies sufficient, 30% reported that they
needed to be revised. As a result, the existing resources should be used in a
rational manner with the most effective animal husbandry policies.
