Professional practice has an important place in the education life of the students in order to ensure that the theoretical education in universities is permanent and can be applied in real business life. Therefore, in the study, it is aimed to examine the effect of the degree of fulfilment of the expectations of professional practice by the students of health management department who perform a professional practice, on career motivation. In the study, the questionnaire form, which includes descriptive questions, questions about the degree of fulfilment of the expectations of professional practice, and the Career Motivation Scale, is applied to 305 health management students who participated in the professional practice from 5 universities. Instead of sampling, the universe is tried to be reached in the study. In the analysis of the data, mean, standard deviation, t and ANOVA tests, factor analysis, correlation and regression analysis are used. When the degree of fulfilment of professional practice expectations and the gender, age and university variables are compared, a significant difference is determined (p<0.05). A significant difference is found between the identity sub-dimension of the career motivation and gender groups (p<0,05). There is a moderately significant (r=0.373; p<0.01) and positive relationship between the degree of fulfilment of professional practice expectations and career motivation. The degree of fulfilment of professional practice expectations explains 14% of the change in career motivation. As a result, the students' knowledge, skills and experience gained through the professional practice they have made during the education process and the professional perspective provide career motivation for their career goals and career plans.
