The aim of this study is to examine the methods selected in the tenders held in the health sector in Turkey in terms of electronic reduction and to evaluate the opinions of the employees in the purchasing units on electronic reduction. As a result of the evaluation, it is to offer solutions for the selection of e-reduction method to contribute to the effective use of public resources. The target population of the research is the purchase staff working in Ministerial Health Institutions. The study is carried out with 641 participants and the sample is calculated as 383. 20.8% of the total participants are working in the General Administrative Services Class (GASC), 44.2% in the Health Services Class (HSC) and 35% in the Executive Class. 49.1% of the participants received purchasing education while the rest 50.9% of them did not. 70.7% of the total participants of this research work in the purchase department willingly, while the rest 29.3% work in this department as a result of some kind of an obligation. It is ascertained that there is a meaningful relationship between the age variable of the participants and the variable of saving time, between voluntary work and productivity in the purchase department, between education level and the quality level of service provided, between education and transparency, between years of service and the decrease of possible employee error, between education level and personnel savings, and between the title and the level of reliability (p < .05). As a result of the study, although the employees in the purchase departments stated that e-reduction method would provide transparency in auctions, reduce costs, increase efficiency, decrease corruption, increase competition, and help sav personnel and time, it is concluded that they do not have enough knowledge and education experience related with e-reduction.
