Child Soldiers Recruitment of Military Forces and Non-State Armed Groups

Öz

Violence steals the childhood of billions of children around the world. They take part in wars that they should never have been, sometimes forced, sometimes voluntarily, with education, protection and the promise of a better future, and witness things that no child should see. Child soldiers can be used for many purposes. While some are used as warriors and can therefore be sent on serious acts of violence or suicide missions, others as spies or messengers; especially girls are used for sexual purposes. Many of those who died in the conflict are children, and one of the most terrifying developments of the last three decades has been the increased use of children as soldiers and their active participation in conflict.This study will explain how children take part in the official armies of states and in the organization of non-state armed groups, the approach of the United Nations Security Council to the issue, the effects of the conflict situation on child soldiers will be evaluated and it will be explained why some army or organizations use children as soldiers or fighters.

Ordu ve Devlet Dışı Silahlı Grupların Çocuk Asker Kullanımı

Şiddet, dünya çapında milyarlarca çocuğun çocukluğunu çalmaktadır. Hiç olmamaları gereken savaşlarda eğitim, koruma ve daha iyi gelecek vaadi ile bazen zorla, bazen de gönüllü olarak yer almaktalar ve hiçbir çocuğun görmemesi gereken şeylere tanık olmaktadırlar. Çocuk askerler pek çok amaçla kullanılabilmektedir. Bazıları savaşçı olarak kullanılırken ve bu nedenle ciddi şiddet eylemlerine veya intihar görevlerine gönderilebiliyorlarken bazıları da casus veya haberci olarak; özellikle kızlar ise genellikle cinsel amaçlarla kullanılmaktadırlar. Çatışmalar sırasında ölenlerin birçoğu çocuk olup son otuz yılın en dehşet verici gelişmelerinden biri de, çocukların asker olarak kullanımının artmış olması ve çatışmalara aktif olarak katılıyor olmalarıdır. Bu çalışma devletlerin resmi ordularında ve devlet dışı silahlı grupların örgütlenmelerinde çocukların nasıl yer aldıklarını açıklayacak, Birleşmiş Milletler Güvenlik Konseyi’nin konuya yaklaşımı değerlendirilecek, çatışma durumunun çocuk askerler üzerinde yarattığı etkiler ve bazı ordu veya örgütlerin neden çocukları asker ya da savaşçı olarak kullandıklarını anlatacaktır.
