Yaşlılığa tutum toplumdan topluma farklılık
gösterebilmektedir. Yaşlıların sağlığı kendilerine yönelik olumlu veya olumsuz
tutumlardan etkilenmektedir.

Attitudes towards elderly differs in different
societies. The well-being of elderly is affected from positive or negative
attitudes. In this study, the objective is to evaluate attitudes of adults
towards elderly from a sample of Türkiye and Turkish Republics based on the data from World Values Survey 2013.
The numbers of participants in database are respectively as follows; Turkey:
1605, Azerbaijan: 1002, Kazakhstan: 1500, Kyrgyzstan: 1500, Uzbekistan: 1500.
Ten items are evaluated regarding the attitudes towards the elderly.
Furthermore, socio-demographic data (age, gender, education, marital status, occupation,  perception of the social class and income
class,) regarding the participants are also collected. The participants from
Uzbekistan gave answers indicating that among others they have the most
positive attitues towards elderly. Eliminating prejudice against the elderly in
the society would be a crucial step in order to prepare for the fast growing
elderly population.
