Öz

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı yoğun bakım hemşirelerinin fiziksel kısıtlamalara ilişkin algılarını ve cilt bütünlüğünü korumaya yönelik yaklaşımlarını incelemektir.
Yöntemler: Bu çalışma tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel niteliktedir. Çalışmaya toplam 138 yoğun bakım hemşiresi dahil edildi. Verilerin toplanmasında “Fiziksel Kısıtlamada Cilt Bütünlüğünü Korumaya Yönelik Yaklaşımlar Formu” ve “Tespit Kullanımı Algı Anketi” kullanıldı.
Bulgular: Katılımcıların tespit kullanımı algısı ve fiziksel kısıtlamada cilt bütünlüğünü koruma yaklaşımları puan ortalamaları sırasıyla 4,67±0,33 ile 17,22±2,59’di. Fiziksel kısıtlamada cilt bütünlüğünü koruma yaklaşımları puan ortalamaları kadınlarda, evlilerde, hizmet içi eğitim alanlarda yüksekti (p<0,05). Fiziksel kısıtlamada cilt bütünlüğünü koruma yaklaşımları ile tespit kullanımı algısı arasındaki ilişki pozitif yönde, zayıf düzeydeydi (r=0,26, p<0,01).
Sonuç: Yoğun bakım hemşirelerinin tespit kullanma eğilimi yüksekti. Bu nedenle yoğun bakım hemşirelerinin fiziksel tespit kullanma algısını etkileyebilecek değişkenlerin dikkate alındığı çalışmalar çözüm önerilerinin geliştirilmesine ve sonuçların paylaşılmasına yardımcı olabilir. Fiziksel kısıtlamaya ilişkin hizmet içi eğitim alma erişkin hastalarda cilt bütünlüğünün korunmasında önemlidir.

Öz

Objective: This study aims to investigate, intensive care nurses' perceptions of physical restraints and their approaches to preserving skin integrity.
Methods: This study was a descriptive and cross-sectional. A total of 138 intensive care nurses were included in this study. “Approaches to Preserving Skin Integrity in Physical Restraint Form” and “Perception Of Restraint Use Questionnaire” were used to collect data.
Results: Participants' mean scores for perceptions of restraint use and approaches to preserving skin integrity in physical restraint form were 4.67±0.33, and 17.22±2.59 respectively. Mean scores for approaches to protecting skin integrity during physical restraint were higher in women, married individuals, and those who received in-service training (p<0.05). There was a positive and weak correlation between approaches to protecting skin integrity in physical restraint and perception of restraint use (r=0.26, p<0.01).
Conclusion: Intensive care nurses have a high tendency to use restraints. Studies paying attention to variables that could affect perceptions of intensive care nurses' use of physical restraint the profession can help to implement solutions and to share conclusions. In-service training regarding physical restraint is important in preserving skin integrity in adult patients.
