Öz

The disease that occurred in Wuhan region in China in December 2019, caused by the virus called COVID-19, was announced by the World Health Organization as a pandemic on March 11, 2020. Countries affected by the disease have determined and implemented health policies to be implemented in this period. In our country, the Ministry of Health has revealed the necessity to delay elective surgeries as much as possible and to use the intensive care units effectively. Surgical applications are of special importance for patients and healthcare professionals, because operating theaters are areas of high risk in terms of contact and airway transmission. For all these reasons, the necessity of establishing a safe surgical algorithm or suggestions arises in cases with possible or definitive COVID-19 disease. The aim of this article is to describe a specific and reproducible perioperative guide aiming to keep health care providers and surgical patients safe.

Cerrahi Uygulamalarda COVID-19 Rehberi

Öz

Aralık 2019’da Çin’in Wuhan bölgesinde ortaya çıkan ve COVID-19 olarak adlandırılan virüs tarafından oluşan hastalık Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından 11 Mart 2020’de pandemi olarak duyurulmuştur. Hastalıktan etkilenen ülkeler bu dönemde uygulanacak sağlık politikalarını belirlemiş ve uygulamaya koymuştur. Ülkemizde Sağlık Bakanlığı, elektif ameliyatları mümkün olduğunca geciktirme ve yoğun bakım ünitelerini etkin bir şekilde kullanma gereğini ortaya koymuştur. Ameliyathaneler, temas ve hava yolu ile bulaş açısından yüksek riskli alanlar olduğundan, cerrahi uygulamalar, hastalar ve sağlık uzmanları için özel bir öneme sahiptir. Tüm bu nedenlerden ötürü, olası veya kesin COVID-19 hastalığı olan vakalarda güvenli bir cerrahi algoritma veya öneri oluşturma gereği ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu makalenin amacı, sağlık hizmeti sunucularını ve cerrahi hastaları güvende tutmayı amaçlayan spesifik ve tekrarlanabilir perioperatif bir rehber tanımlamaktır.
